Registration is now open for the 2017 ACRA-Qld and Heart Foundation annual symposium to be held on Friday the 20th October.

Secondary Prevention in Cardiology: surfing the waves of change

This event will feature a mixture of invited speakers, clinical and research topics, and plenty of networking opportunities. The Symposium will provide a space to explore what’s new and innovative in cardiovascular secondary prevention; showcase fresh approaches to cardiac rehabilitation; share inspiring patient experiences in cardiovascular care; and reveal the latest initiatives to advance of Cardiac Rehabilitation in Queensland.

We are currently finalising the program but hope to include a range of topics which will interest a broad cross-section of attendees, as well as showcase speakers and services local to the Sunshine Coast area. New this year will also be our “Think Tank”: a 15-20 minutes session where you, the attendees, can take to the floor and share with the EMC and broader membership any issues you may currently have with the association, or cardiac rehabilitation practices. Discussion, collaboration and networking will be strongly encouraged. Come join us for what will be a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on the great work being done in Queensland. As in previous years we will also be offering the symposium via video-conference link for those from outside the area who cannot attend in person.

SOCIAL EVENTS:

Attendees will have the opportunity to catch-up over an informal drink or dinner (at their own expense) before or after the symposium (numbers permitting). The  venue is only a short walk from the education centre and offers a range of well-priced food options. Please let us know if you are interested in joining us on Thursday evening.

We have also included an extended afternoon tea in the program to allow for networking at the conclusion of the day’s educational activities.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

ACRA-Qld reserves the right to cancel or postpone this event. If this occurs registration fees will be refunded, but ACRA-Qld bears no responsibility for any costs incurred (such as flights, accommodation, travel expenses) or loss of income. Should you be unable to attend, a substitute delegate is welcome to attend in your place on notification to us. If the substitute is not an ACRA member, the non-member fee will apply and extra payment will be due prior to attendance. If you cancel, a refund less $30 or 10% (whichever is greater) will be given for a written cancellation received 7 working days prior to the event. Cancellation within 7 working days or failure to attend will result in no refund.

This educational event represents 5 hours of training in Continuing Professional Development under the Australian health practitioners regulation agency guidelines. As such it would be the equivalent of 5 CPD points. Certificates of attendance will be provided for all those who participate in the symposium.
